Ranking the Super Bowls, #42: Super Bowl XXVIII

Super Bowl XXVIII featured the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 30, 1994. It was the second straight Super Bowl between the Cowboys and Bills. Every NFL fan knows how this game ended.  The Buffalo Bills had a Super Bowl stretch in the early nineties that saw the Bills played four Super Bowls back-to-back but lost all four of these games.  This was not one of the closer Super Bowls the Bills played though as the world saw the Dallas Cowboys score 24 unanswered points in the second half after being down 13-6 at the half.

Emmitt Smith carried the ball 30 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns.  This led Smith to earn the Super Bowl MVP trophy.  The Bills had played the Cowboys in the Super Bowl the year before that also but it was even more of a blowout and for more information about that particular game you can see #49th ranked Super Bowl on this series.

Troy Aikman might have been the Super Bowl MVP for that game but was rather mediocre in this game as he threw for 207 yards and one interception.  In comparison the Bills quarterback, Jim Kelly, threw for 260 yards and one interception as well.

Turnovers would kill the Buffalo Bills in this game with three turnovers to the Cowboys one. As a whole, the stats line was pretty similar since the Cowboys total yard amount was 341 to the Bills 314. The Bills had two more first downs to the Cowboys 20.  However the game ended with the score 30 for the Cowboys to the Bills 13.  This gave the Cowboys their fourth Super Bowl victory to the Bills fourth consecutive Super Bowl loss..
