Ranking the Super Bowls, #49: Super Bowl XXVII

Had Leon Lett not held his hand out while running into the end zone for a pick-six, which was knocked out of his hand and fell through the end zone for a Buffalo Bills touchback, this would have been the worst Super Bowl ever played.

The Cowboys dominated the Bills in every way. It didn't help that Jim Kelly was knocked out of the game with an injury, either. Troy Aikman threw for three touchdowns and the Cowboys won Super Bowl XXVII by a final score of 52-17. The 52 points was the second most points scored in a Super Bowl game behind the 49ers' 55 in Super Bowl XXIV.

The loss for the Bills was their third consecutive loss in the big game out of the four straight. This was also the last Super Bowl played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. The next one will be Super Bowl LV in Los Angeles in 2021.

The win for the Cowboys was the first of three Super Bowl victories in the next four years.
