According to Allison Sylte and Mike Klis of 9News note,, Broncos QB Peyton Manning told Patriots HC Bill Belichick "this might be my last rodeo," hinting that he might decide to hang it up after Super Bowl 50 on February 7th vs Carolina.
Manning, 39, has one year left on the five year, $90MM contract he signed with Denver prior to the 2012 season. He battled injuries for most of last year and missed six weeks with a partially fractured plantar plate in his left foot this year. He returned for the second half of Denver's Week 17 game vs San Diego and propelled his team to a 27-20 win and the AFC's #1 seed.
Manning is one of the greatest QBs of all-time, holding the all-time marks for TD passes and passing yards, and nearly every Colts record for a QB. Peyton spent the first 13 years of his career in Indianapolis before being released in 2011 due to concerns about his health. Manning missed the entire 2011 season after undergoing major neck surgery, and Colts owner Jim Irsay decided to move on and draft Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft.
