Tennessee Titans 2016 Season Preview

The Tennessee Titans have had a rough few seasons.  They haven't seen a playoff game since 2008 and just traded their second round draft pick from 2015.  Dorial Green-Beckham was drafted by the Titans in 2015 but was traded just last week for Byron Bell to help bolster their offensive line.  The Titans GM wasn't sold on Green-Beckham's dedication to the team and wanted to help their young quarterback out.  The team from Tennessee appears to be trying to build on Heisman winners Marcus Mariota and Derrick Henry in their backfield.

The Titans know they need to improve their run game as they ranked 25th overall in 2015.  Tennessee knew they had to fix that so they went out and received Demarco Murray from the Philadelphia Eagles.  They didn't stop with Murray though as they drafted Alabama standout Derrick Henry in the second round.  This will give their running game a nice one-two punch in 2016.  This will also help Mariota out to give him a legit threat in the backfield.

The Titans had the 12th best defense in 2015 and will need to have a top defense if they want to make some noise in an AFC South that could actually be somewhat difficult in 2016.  Delanie Walker will need to continue to be a valuable Tight End as the receiving options for the Titans are mostly unproven.  They signed a veteran wide receiver in Andre Johnson during the off-season but how much does he really still have left in the tank?  These are questions the Titans will have to answer in 2016.  For Tennessee to really make noise they will need a legit threat at receiver.
