The Cleveland Browns are expected to sign former Washington Redskins QB and 2012 #2 overall pick Robert Griffin III. RGIII as he is better known as, won the Heisman Trophy in 2011 as a member of the Baylor University Bears before being drafted second overall by the Washington Redskins in the 2012 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season, RGIII led his team to an NFC East title and a playoff appearance. In the wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks, RGIII tore his ACL in a loss. He has not been the same since then. Things have gotten so bad, RGIII was at one point a third-string QB behind starting QB Kirk Cousins and backup QB Colt McCoy.

RGIII did not even play a snap in 2015 and was released by the team earlier this month. He was in talks with different teams such as the San Francisco 49ers, who were reportedly looking to trade Colin Capernick, and the Denver Broncos, who signed Mark Sanchez earlier this month.
