Former Broncos defensive lineman Malik Jackson is expected to finalize a contract today with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The six-year offer will make him one of the highest paid players in the league at his position.

Jacksonville entered the free agency period with over $80 million in cap space, making them a dominant player in the market. The Broncos, Bears and Raiders all showed interest in Jackson, but none of them could compete with the Jaguars’ cap room.

Jackson was a fifth-round draft pick by the Broncos out of Tennessee in the 2012 NFL Draft. After receiving limited playing time in his rookie season, he has had 14.5 sacks over the last three years as a formidable force on the defensive line for a Broncos defense that was the league’s best last season.
