Titans Acquire DeMarco Murray from Eagles

The Tennessee Titans have acquired running back DeMarco Murray from the Philadelphia Eagles. Murray spent only one season in Philadelphia after signing a five-year, $42 million deal with the team last offseason.

Murray was the NFL leading rushing leader in 2014 with the Dallas Cowboys, rushing for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. In his one season with the Eagles, he only rushed for 702 yards and six touchdowns. Not only were his stats down, but Murray was rumored to be unhappy in the city of brotherly love.

He was one of four running backs that took carries for the Eagles last season, meaning he also got a lot less carries than he was used to in Dallas. Unfortunatley, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wasn't going to pay him the salary he required, so the Eagles took him from their NFC East rival.

Unfortunately, Murray didn't play the way the team had hoped and now he is on his way to Nashville. The Titans own the #1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, so it is less than likely they will draft a running back with that pick now.The Titans will look for Murray to help their running game, as the Titans ranked 25th in the NFL last season, averaging just 92.8 rushing yards per game.
