Giants Seek Depth At Cornerback

According to NJ Advanced Media, veteran cornerback, Leon Hall, had a free-agent visit with the New York Giants this Tuesday, but left without a contract. NJ Advanced Media also reported that the Giants have competition from several other teams for Hall's services. One of those teams are the Atlanta Falcons, who hosted Hall on Tuesday night after the veteran cornerback worked out for Big Blue. Per NJ Advanced Media, Hall "also has other offers on the table."

Even though New York is in desperate need for depth at the cornerback position, they're highly unlikely to get into a bidding war for a 31-year-old slot corner who has had two torn Achilles tendons, as well as undergoing back surgery this off-season.

If the Giants end up passing on Hall, there remains other options for the G-Men to pursue. Just last month the Giants had cornerback Jerraud Powers in for a visit and he's currently still on the market. Also on the open market is four-year veteran Chris Culliver, who was released by the Washington Redskins this past week. There's also reports indicating that veteran cornerback, Walter Thurmond, may be retiring, but is also technically still on the market.
