Can Mark Sanchez Succeed in Denver?

Mark Sanchez. Whenever you hear that name you think of the quarterback who had the infamous butt fumble on Thanksgiving a few years back. The Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos acquired the quarterback from the Philadelphia Eagles in March.

Despite the infamous butt fumble, Sanchez has actually had a pretty solid career. He has 15,126 yards, 86 touchdowns and 84 interceptions during his career. It seemed to be a lock that backup Brock Osweiler would return to Denver, but he ran off to Houston, which left a hole in the depth chart. The Broncos traded for Sanchez at first as a backup, but after a trade for Colin Kaepernick fell through, Denver will now likely start Sanchez.

The Sanchize is actually the perfect quarterback for the Broncos. The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the league, as showed during last year’s playoffs. Even though Peyton Manning didn’t have a very good season, because of the defense the Broncos didn’t need a lot of quarterback production. Denver just needs a steady veteran quarterback who can make the right throws at the right time. During his time with the New York Jets, Sanchez made it to two AFC Championships. Sanchez has never had the amount weapons that he will have in Denver this season.

With the Broncos, he will have wide receivers Demariyus Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Also, he will have running back C.J Anderson to hand the ball off to. Most importantly, Sanchez will have a brick wall for a defense that can help Denver win most of its game. It seems likely that Sanchez will succeed in the Mile High City. Sanchez has the right amount of weapons around him on offense, and their defense will be able to carry the team like last year. With his experience, Sanchez will be successful in his first season in Denver.
