Twitter to Stream Thursday Night Football Games

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday that Twitter will live stream Thursday Night Football games starting this season. Twitter was one of several social media platforms that were looking to strike a deal with the NFL to stream games. The NFL had been looking for a platform to stream games on after the Yahoo! stream of the Jacksonville Jaguars - Buffalo Bills stream turned out to be a huge success.

Not only will Twitter live stream the games, but they will also include in-game highlights and also Periscope broadcasts with different players as part of the deal with the NFL.

For those that do not have a Twitter, Thursday Night Football games will still be aired on CBS and NFL Network, as well as NBC. CBS and NBC will will each air five Thursday Night Football games this season.

"This is about transforming the fan experience with football. People watch NFL games with Twitter today," Twitter CEO  Jack Dorsey said, "Now they'll be able to watch right on Twitter Thursday nights."
